Child Safe Standards

Children have the right to feel safe and be safe from sexual, physical and emotional abuse. Victorian organisations that provide services to children are required under the Child Safety and Wellbeing Act to ensure that they implement compulsory child safe standards to protect children from harm.

The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards in 2022 to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.
